I'm an idiot

It’s an ongoing epidemic, mostly for teenagers. Sure, I’ve tried it. It’s something everyone has tried once or twice. The first time I saw it I was mesmerized. I was in the Army playing war games, while stationed at Fort Riley, KS. It was one of those rare moments where we had a little down time, so my section and me, which consisted of: my chief Sgt. Fields, gunner and assistant chief Sgt Bruce, number one man (the guy that loads and fires the cannon) PFC Soper, and me the track operator, we sat there and joked around until Sgt. Bruce yells out:

“You guys gotta check this out.”

Sgt. Bruce dug deep into his pocket for a couple of seconds and withdrew his trusty Zippo lighter. What I saw next would change my life dramatically. Sgt Bruce sat down, put his legs above his head, grimaced, and promptly lit his fart. We laughed like a bunch drunk kids at a Three Stooges movie marathon. I mean I’ve seen this stuff on T.V. but to see it in person was unreal. Needless to say I was hooked.

Project

This final project is killing me. I know what I want to do it's just a pain. I guess i just need to grin and bear it. I'm not really worried just yet, i still have a few weeks until it's due.

Weekend

It's nice to have a weekend off sometimes. I spent Saturday sleeping and doing laundry. Sunday I helped a friend move and slept more, maybe i should get more sleep during the week. Anyway, I like to sleep.

I really should do more productive things, i did finish the stories for the newsletter i freelance for, but that's about it.

Internships

I was supposed to hear back about an internship, but no word yet. I just want to know if i have it or not. That way if I don't, i can make other plans.

Random Thoughts

By know everyone's heard of the shootings at Virgina Tech. I just puzzled as to why he did it? What makes someone shoot 30 people multiple times?

I know that in Columbine, the students killed other students because they
were outcast and made fun of. I think as a society we need focus more
on bullys.

I remember watching Muppet Babies as a child; the
other Muppet's would outcast Gonzo and call him a weirdo. No wonder
kids grow up to be so judgemental.

Random thoughts

I sometimes feel like I'm two people, on at school and a one at work. I guess i feel like this because of relationships. At school I'm the managing editor of the paper,I make "management like" decisions. people look for me to lead in a certain direction, which I've learned, is not always the right way.

At work I'm just a regular person, i come do my job and leave. I really don't think about work again until my next shift.

It's differnet with the paper, i think about it all the time, how we can make it better, what we're doing wrong etc.

Anyway, times up i'll have to continue this later.

Cards game

The game last night was a nail biter, but thankfully the Cards pulled it off. Am I alone or does anyone else fell strangely taken in by activities like sports? Sometimes I just get too attached, it's not like people are going to die is the cards lose. Sometimes i have to remind myself that it's just a game.

While I'm on this subject, is anyone else concerned that the Cards are "dropping like flies" already.....i hope they get injuries out of the way now.

Newspaper racks

I spent my entire morning putting together racks and distributing newspapers. Great fun. One of the racks fell off a table leaving and leaving a gash on my arm. So, next time anyone picks up a paper, just remember, it wasn't without sacrifice.

But, please do pick up a paper and feel free to tell me what you really think of it, however if you want to say it sucks (feel free to do so) just give me a reason why so we can improve.

Stuff to do

Next time someone tells you they haven't seen you in a while, tell them you were abducted by aliens, then look around suspiciously and say "I think they're still watching me"... and then run away. It'll make things more interesting.

Road trip

I took a road trip to Michigan Easter weekend, which was nice well except for a few "hot dog" incidents. Trust me i know better than to eat food from seedy gas stations, but when you're driving 550 miles you kind of lose rational thought. Anyway. I always end up eating one or two and i always end up paying for it the next day, so if you see me running towards the restroom you'll know why.

Back to the Hustle

Break was nice, but it's time to get back to work. i need to start concentrating more on school. This time of the year it's really easy to get side-tracked even if the weather is cold. I can hear my PlayStation and books calling me.

Random thoughts

Being poor and busy all the time sucks. Well i guess in a way they help each other out. Because i'm busy all the time, i have no time to spend money, thanks. I was thinking about picking up up an extra shift at work, but who wants to do that?

For Christmas i got a one-hour massage and let me tell you, its was fantastic. I was a little nervous at first, because well I'm a little pudgy and all and it's kind of weird being touched by strangers, but it was great. All the soreness in my back went away, it was a real stress reliever.

I have to cover a Board of Aldermen meeting in New Melle tonight. I wish the they would argue or something, then it's interesting.

Pants?

I have no idea why, but as soon as i get home i have the urge to take my pants off. Trust me, it's nothing sexual, it's just more comfortable. It's nothing i do in public, well sober. According to my buddy Amy, her boyfriend does the same thing, so maybe it's a guy thing.

If you're coming to casa de Sonderman, call first, if you don't want to see what pair of novelty boxers I've chosen to wear that day.

Random Thoughts

Spring break is over, time to begin the busy student life again. Which is good, i'd like to have spring break again, but it's good get the school year rolling again...the sooner it's over the better.

I'm a bit worried about internships, i applied to three places and haven't heard back from any of them yet.
The editor of the Suburban Journals in St. Charles told me i could work there over the summer, i just wish i had something finalized.
It just seems kind of weird the I have to ask people to let me work for free...plus pay Lindenwood. I mean what does Lindenwood do anyway, they're not teaching me anything. Why should i have to pay the college anything? Seems like a rip-off to me.
Then again what the hell do I know? I'm 26 and still in college.
